I love this Bourbon Chicken. Not only is it simple and easy to make but also incredibly delicious. Instead of using bourbon whiskey, this recipe uses a combination of apple juice, water and cider vinegar. The addition of ketchup and soy sauce gives this dish its dark color. The chicken pieces coated in dark thick sauce looked so appetizing; it was gone pretty fast. I hope you enjoy this chicken dish as much as my family does.


  • 5 chicken breasts
  • 2 T oil
  • 1 t minced garlic
  • 1/4 C apple or pineapple juice
  • 1/3 C brown sugar
  • 2 T ketchup
  • 1 T apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 C water
  • 1/3 C soy sauce
  • pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1 T cornstarch
